Caysonville House

Our small place in the country.
Come for the weekend. Stay for the long walks, bird watching and naps in the hammock.

The House

An old farmhouse, lightly improved.

The house sits on a quiet road outside historic Carversville, in a corner of Bucks County where the fields still go on a while before the next town. There's a porch for morning coffee, a kitchen big enough to cook in together, and a guest room that gets the best of the afternoon light.

Outside, the property is slowly returning to native plants — a pair of mating ducks visit us daily, the pool should be open by summer, gym equipment in the barn, afternoon grilling, and a fire pit for late-night chats. You're welcome to wander.

This is a place for friends to get away for a long weekend. The page below is one way to inquire for availability.

The Stairs

The staircase to the bedroom is steep, narrow, and older than everyone reading this. It rewards the sure-footed and unhurried. Go up slowly, hold the rail, and you'll be fine. Rush it, and you'll have a story.

Not recommended for guests who prefer elevators, or who are arriving post-significant-wine.
II.

The Walnuts

The black walnut trees are magnificent and prolific, particularly in autumn, when they shed with enthusiasm. The yard in October is a genuine ankle situation. We collect what we can. The rest we watch for, and recommend you do too.

Sensible footwear outdoors is advised, especially after dark when they are hardest to see.

The Spirits

The house was built in the 1800s on land with a long history. Locals have stories. We haven't personally encountered anything we can't explain — but the house does have opinions at night, and there is one particular corner of the upper floor we haven't entirely made peace with.

Unconfirmed. We take no position. Bring an open mind, and perhaps a night light.
